This morning (Dec. 9), St. Vincent surprised fans with the announcement of her new solo record, the follow-up to 2011′s Strange Mercy and her first release since teaming up with David Byrne for 2012′s Love This Giant. St. Vincent’s (aka Annie Clark) fourth self-titled LP, due out February 25, was recorded in Dallas with Dap-Kings drummer Homer Steinweiss and Midlake percussionist McKenzie Smith. To help tide fans over while they wait for next year’s release date, Clark released the self-titled album’s first track “Birth in Reverse,” a groove-heavy track that has Clark recanting the line, “Laugh all you want, I want more.”
